Trauma-informed counseling

Relationships feel hard when old wounds are running the show.
Together, we create a new way of relating — grounded, honest, and deeply connected.

Hi, Welcome.

If you’re here, I’m guessing something in your life—often at home or in your closest relationships—feels hard right now. You may be overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together while longing for real change.

I’m a licensed therapist offering trauma-informed, body-centered therapy for individuals and couples who want more than surface-level coping. I specialize in relationship counseling, nervous system regulation, and helping people heal the impact of relational wounds, power struggles, and religious or spiritual trauma. I help high-conflict couples and individuals heal relational wounds through body-based therapy so they can move from power struggles and disconnection into real intimacy and connection.

Using approaches like Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I help clients calm overwhelmed nervous systems, reconnect with themselves, and create more honest, intimate, and resilient relationships. My work supports both individuals and couples in breaking free from old patterns and building connection rooted in strength, safety, and authenticity.

There is a different way forward—one that honors your body, your history, and your desire for meaningful change. You don’t have to do this alone.

I offer in person sessions in Lafayette, CO (near Boulder, Lousiville, Erie, CO)

At A New Way Counseling Collective, we specialize in helping high-conflict couples repair trust, communicate effectively, and reconnect through Relational Life Therapy (RLT) — a direct, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to creating real change.

Sarah helps you identify and transform the deeper patterns driving your conflict—many of which have been carried through families for generations—so you can move from blame and defensiveness to honesty, accountability, and repair. Together, we work to restore balance in your relationship, rebuild intimacy, and create lasting connection rooted in respect and love.

If you’re ready to break free from destructive patterns and learn how to stand up for yourself with strength and heart—while staying open to your partner—you’re not just improving your relationship today. You’re investing in the kind of partnership that changes the legacy your family carries forward.

Couples leave this work more confident, accountable, and able to truly cherish the relationship they’re creating—changing not only their partnership, but the legacy they carry forward.

Sometimes the patterns that shape our lives were formed long before we had the awareness or power to change them. Individual therapy offers a space to understand those patterns and begin creating something different.

A New Way Counseling Collective, Sarah helps individuals heal the impact of past relationships and trauma using Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Even outside a partnership, Sarah helps you understand the patterns that keep you stuck — empowering you to build self-awareness, confidence, and connection in every area of life.

Through mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic awareness, Sarah guides you to reconnect with your body’s wisdom and regulate your nervous system so you can stay grounded in the present moment and respond to life with greater clarity and choice. This trauma-informed, spiritually attuned approach supports balance, resilience, and growth — helping you create the kind of relationship you want, both with yourself and others.

Clients leave this work with practical skills to steady themselves in difficult moments and navigate life with greater confidence. They find themselves more connected to themselves and others, more courageous in trying new things, and more hopeful and stable in their ability to move through the world with authenticity, joy, and purpose.
